Tell us a bit about you Ant

I’m a TV Producer at OLIVER and have been since October last year.

I work mostly on versioning so if you want one of your adverts made for another market I’m your man!

We’ve heard this isn’t how you started out at OLIVER… What’s your story?

I’ve worked for OLIVER for over a year now. When I first came here I was an Account Manager working on some really interesting brands. Shortly after I was made a Senior Account Manager but found myself restless and by October I was thinking of changing career path.

After looking around, I was approached about another role in our TV department. 2 days later I was in my new team!

How did you find the transition?

The transition was absolutely fine. I had plenty of support from my new team and was still around to answer questions for the person who’d taken on my old role.

I was a Producer before I was an Account Manager so although rusty it wasn’t too difficult to put that cap on again.

And how did you figure out where you wanted to move to?

If I’m honest I didn’t figure it out, well not at first. One of the other producers in the TV department had heard that we were looking for another versioning producer and mentioned it to the powers that be.

It was only when I was approached that I even thought about it…and I thought yes.

I’d missed being so hands on and my dress sense (or lack of, depending on who you speak to) screams Production rather than Account Management. What was I thinking all this time?!…I don’t tuck in my shirts and I don’t wear suit jackets. I don’t even own a pair of brogues!

What would your advice be for anyone who wants to change departments like you did?

There are a great number of good people at OLIVER that want you to do well. If you’re interested in other roles then go and speak to someone. Go introduce yourself, ask some questions and shadow some jobs if you have the time.

I nearly left and I’m so glad I didn’t.

Bottom line. Speak to people. The HR and Talent Team are a good place to start…and in my case I ended up speaking to the head of department.

And now for something different – tell us something super fun about you

Something super fun about me…I love photography and have examples of my work all over my house.

I’m running the London Marathon for the 2nd time this year.

I own about 40 pairs of trainers and collect sports shirts…including Rugby (both League and Union), Ice Hockey, American Football, Basketball, Baseball and football. I have about 75 jerseys in total.
